As I'm sure you are already followers of my best gal pal (former Nurse Bestie) at StressCase. She cleverly came up with cute little nicknames to call all of her closest family and friends. When I started writing my blog, I felt compelled to do the same thing. Funny enough though, she is the only one who actually has a nickname on this little blog. Anyways, I sat and thought, but could not come up with anything that I felt was original enough so I went with the obvious. She's my best friend and she's a nurse. Nurse Bestie it was! I decided that until I came up with something more clever that would be her title. Until a few weeks ago on The Real Housewives of OC Reunion Show! See video below:

I am SO excited for the 2 hour premier of Mad Men tonight I can hardly stand it. Mad Men has been my favorite show since the second it came out. I've seen every season multiple times (thanks to Netflix) and could watch them again because they are just that good. Rolling Stone Magazine did a behind the scenes and on the set piece showcasing some amaze-balls photos of what goes on during the filming of Mad Men. Take a look.
"If Rob Lowe had been cast in the part, it would have been different," says Jon Hamm, on the set in L.A. "There was no backstory with me."

Elisabeth Moss, who plays the ambitious career girl Peggy Olsen,
has a touch of pride about the fact that Mad Men's stars were relative unknowns before show creator Matthew Weiner put them to such brilliant use. "Matt always says that he basically hired a bunch of not-famous people,but people that had been working for a really long time."
The attention to detail, from conversational idiom to collar-point widths, is
evident in every episode. The prop team blows you away. There are stacks of old
Look magazines, genuine expense-report sheets and receipts from a business trip
(hotel: $2.80; cab to restaurant: $1.12; dinner: $19.44).

Weiner starts each season by having lunch with Hamm:

"Betty is so blissfully ignorant in certain ways,
so I feel like I should be too."
"There are all sorts of challenges thrown at her,"
says Christina Hendricks of her character, sexy office manager Joan Holloway. "Horrific things. And she consistently pulls it together, cleans it up and moves forward. Sometimes she's walking through mud, but she does it."

"I don't really have that much in comparison to the way Don
holds himself. I'm not that guy. I don't really look like that,"
says Hamm.
"I don't need to relate to her," Jones says of Betty Draper,
the show's most unsympathetic character.
"The biggest obstacle for me is not to judge her."
"I fly very low on the radar," says Hamm.
"Mark Twain said it: 'I'd rather say nothing and be thought an idiot than open my mouth and remove all doubt.' Another Missouri boy, Mark Twain. The petulant, shitty movie-star mentality - that burns out pretty quick."

I can't wait to see what this season holds. I did read in an interview that there will only be two more seasons after this one. It will be a sad day when the show is over.

One of my absolute favorite shows on TV is Shameless. While watching the show I often catch myself with my mouth open and am continually shocked and delighted by the vulgarity of it. Just take a look at the intro.
So what's it about.
The series is set in Chicago's South Side Canaryville neighborhood, and showcases the fabulously dysfunctional Gallagher family. Dad's a drunk, Mom split long ago, eldest daughter Fiona tries to hold the family together. Eldest son Philip (Lip) trades his physics tutoring skills for sexual favors from neighborhood girls. Middle son Ian is gay. Youngest daughter Debbie is stealing money from her UNICEF collection. Ten-year-old Carl is a budding sociopath and an arsonist, and toddler Liam is - well, he might actually be black, but nobody has a clue how. On top of that their neighbor Sheila, (Joan Cusack) who is one of my favorite characters on the show plays an agoraphobic germophobe, and Frank's (the Dad's) main love interest. While it's difficult for her to even think about leaving the house, she invites Frank into her home with open arms to take advantage of her cooking, disability checks and bedroom hospitality.
According to Wiki, the show's producers sought to distinguish it from previous American working-class shows by highlighting how Frank's alcoholism affects his family. Paul Abbott, creator of the original, said, "It's not My Name Is Earl or Roseanne. It's got a much graver level of poverty attached to it. It's not blue collar; it's no collar." When John Wells, the showrunner, began pitching the show, he had to fight efforts to place the show in the South or in a trailer park. He explained, "We have a comedic tradition of making fun of the people in those worlds. The reality is that these people aren't 'the other' — they're people who live four blocks down from you and two blocks over".

If you haven't seen Shameless yet, check it out! It airs Sunday nights at 9 on Showtime. It's a few weeks in on the second season, but you can catch up on the 1st season as well as the 2nd on Demand. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Is anybody as disappointed as I am about the Playboy Club being cancelled after only 3 episodes?! I know it was incomparable to Mad Men and at some points down right cheesy, but I saw potential in it and would really like to know what happens between Maurine and Nick Dolton! *sigh* I guess it is best left to my imagination. Darnit.

Mad Men is one of my favorite T.V. shows of all time. It's sexy, sophisticated, interesting and unlike any show I've ever seen. I love it. Season 5 should be starting about now but is delayed until January 2012 because of contract negotiations- sucha tragedy. The good news is you can catch up on seasons 1-4 on Netflix right now, (I'm doing it) I started last week and am halfway through season 3! Seeing it before, I already knew the show was amazing, but being able to watch all the shows in a row has really given me 'Mad Men Fever'! This is why I think it qualifies for this weeks Sexy Sunday! Plot
Mad Men is set in the 1960s. The focal point of the series is Don Draper (Jon Hamm), creative director at Sterling Cooper and a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, as well as those in his life, both in and out of the office. As such, it regularly depicts the changing moods and social mores of 1960s America.
If you haven't seen the show, you really should give it a chance! I promise you will not be disappointed. Hope you all have a sinfully sexy Sunday!
